This beautifully restored croft house has been in our family for over 100 years. It is a very special place to us and holds many memories within its walls. We really hope you can appreciate its character and history as much as we do.

About Your Stay

Old Moorens is a cosy, traditional crofthouse on the rugged and beautiful West-side of Shetland. Charming and full of character, the house is situated only 200 metres from a quiet, shingly beach with beautiful sunset views. As well as this, it is only a short, 5 minute walk, to the main West-side bus route. The perfect base for exploring the many attractions Shetland has to offer in all seasons. Fresh, light and airy in the summer months with a wood burning stove for the colder nights.

Book Your Stay

Set in it’s own garden, with ample parking, the house is arranged over two floors. Downstairs, there is a cosy sitting room with wood burning stove. The perfect space for relaxing in after a busy day sightseeing or walking. There is also the dining kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher plus a Nespresso coffee machine for your morning cup.

The washing machine is also in the kitchen, with access to a clothes horse or outdoor clothes line. The final room downstairs is the toilet/shower room. A small traditional staircase provides access to the airy upstairs space with lovely views to the sea. The main bedroom offers the comfort of a king-size bed and ample storage space. The second bedroom has two single beds.

      Old Moorens was a perfect spot from which to explore Shetland. The accommodation was excellent and surroundings beautiful. Jacqueline and Bryan were very helpful and were keen to ensure we had everything we needed. Would thoroughly recommend ☺️

      This was a wonderful, a very cosy Airbnb and Jacqueline was an amazing host. It was in a really good location - fairly central to mainland Shetland and had good access to all parts of the island. The Shetland Isles have so much to offer - I had some amazing adventures and the cottage was a wonderful place to come back to in the evening. It had amazing views and I loved the log fire!
